How to Prepare for a Spray Tan

SPRAY TAN PREP – GET YOUR SKIN GLOW-READY

Flawless tans start with the right prep! Follow these steps for the best, longest-lasting results:

Exfoliate & Moisturize 24 Hours Before – Focus on elbows, knees, ankles, and any dry areas for an even glow.
Wax or Shave at Least 48 Hours Before – This lets your pores close, avoiding those little dark spots.
Ditch the Products 24 Hours Before – No bar soaps, high-pH shower gels, oils, or in-shower moisturizers. These create a barrier that stops the tan from developing properly.
Less Moisture, Better Tan – Too much hydration can cause the tan to slide off, so keep skin fresh and product-free.
On the Day: No Lotions, Perfume, Deodorant, or Makeup – Keep your skin completely bare for the best absorption.

Prep right, tan right! Your glow is waiting. ✨

SPRAY TAN AFTERCARE

THE MOST IMPORTANT STEP AFTER YOUR SPRAY TAN – THE SHOWER PROCESS

Before & After Your Tan: Wear dark, loose clothing to prevent marks. Tight clothes or underwear can smudge your tan, so opt for loose-fitting shoes too.

First Rinse (After 2-5 Hours): Step into the shower for 30 to 45 seconds—just enough to rinse off the bronzer. Use lukewarm or cool water (as cool as you can handle). No soap, no shampoo, just plain water.

Pat, Don’t Rub: After showering, gently pat your skin dry with a towel—no rubbing or scrubbing!

Development Time: Your tan will look lighter after the first rinse—don’t worry! It continues developing for 12-24 hours. During this time, avoid moisturizers, deodorants, or any products until after your second shower.

After Your Second Shower: Moisturize daily to keep your skin hydrated and extend the life of your tan. For even longer-lasting results, use a tanning moisturizer or TAN toner instead of regular soap or body wash—ask us for recommendations!

WHAT HAPPENS DURING THE FIRST WASH?

The brown bronzers rinse away, but the fast-acting tan continues to develop. DO NOT use hot water—it can stop the tanning process, especially in colder months.

Once the bronzer is rinsed off, you’re good to go—your tan won’t stain clothes or bedsheets and will develop into a natural, glowing tan over the next few hours.

You can use soap and regular shower products 12-24 hours after your first rinse.

WHEN YOUR TAN STARTS TO FADE…

By day 5, start exfoliating with a soft body polish daily to help your skin absorb even more moisture. This keeps your skin smooth, hydrated, and ensures your tan fades evenly, not in patches.
